Three Ways to Inspire Change
Anxious and depressed? Your aerobiome (the microbial cloud that surrounds you, aka your poop cloud) is not only your immune systems first line of defense. It also shares a relationship with gaseous neurotransmitters that affect your mood, how inflamed you are, and which neurotransmitters make it up to your brain.
These are three ways to alter your aerobiome, and gently inspire change in how your anxiety and depression are manifesting:
Go for a hike in the woods. You microbial cloud interacts with everything around you. Spending time in a microbially diverse, natural environment such as the woods will diversify your aerobiome.
Take a shower. Rinsing/cleaning your skin changes what microbes are living/thriving on and around you.
Sweat until you drip. (Cheat code: sauna) On top of making changes to your skin’s microbiome, sweating is a good way to “vent” the excess pressure you may feel with anxiety, and act in opposition to the sinking feeling of depression.
